Jalon Valley Property Rentals is a small company set up to introduce you to the beauty and splendour of the magnificent Jalon Valley.
The Jalon Valley can be found in the northern region of the Costa Blanca, 14 miles inland from Javea and 11 miles from Moraira. It is a magical valley of orange, lemon, almond and olive trees, lush vegetation, fantastic vineyards and breathtaking scenery. It is said to be one of the finest examples of rural Spain.
The town of Jalon lies in the centre of the valley and is surrounded by many smaller villages, nestled in the stunning countryside, such as Lliber, Alcalali and Parcent. Jalon itself is a quiet town, the focal point of which is its famous church, with its spectacular Blue dome.
The valley is overlooked by magnificent mountains, the Sierra Bernia. The valley is also famous for its local wines. There are several bodegas (wine cellars) where you could spend many a leisurely hour tasting before perhaps sampling regional and international cuisine in any of the Valley's numerous restaurants. An average three course meal with wine, bread and alioli (garlic mayonnaise) costs as little as £7 per person. You may also want to indulge yourself in some of the many varieties of almond cakes and biscuits made by the local bakers from local produce.
The valley offers a range of activities, including horse riding, walking, cycling, rock-climbing, running and nature trails. Within a short drive, there are also theme parks like Terra Mitica, Mundomar and Aqualandia, and many golf courses, including the 18 hole championship course at La Sella, near Denia.
In the winter months the Costa Blanca is fortunate enough to have nearly as many sunny days as in the summer, making this area worth a visit at any time of the year . The valley itself is a walker's paradise, with routes ranging from a very gentle stroll along the valley to a six hour hike through the Sierra Bernia mountains. You can even take a trek through the vineyards on horseback from one of the local stables. In late January the whole of the valley is obscured with a magnificent blanket of pink and white almond blossom.
Life in the Jalon Valley remains very slow and tranquil, yet less than half an hour's drive away is the hustle and bustle of the beaches, water sports and nightlife of the coastal resorts of Denia, Javea, Moraira and Calpe. Each of these has a sandy beach and numerous water activities such as sailing, scuba diving, water skiing etc. A beautiful drive south over the Sierra Bernia will take you to the Fuentes del Algar waterfalls and the historic hilltop walled town of Guadalest.
With all it has to offer, the Jalon Valley cannot fail to be the ideal location for your next holiday.
